Led by Paul Harrison and Connor Sanders, Negruve, initially conceptualized as Noir in November 2021, aimed to rejuvenate Southend's electronic music scene with high-quality underground music. The official launch in February 2022 featured T. Jaques and resident DJs Ollie Blunt, Ben Lucas, Curby, and Harold (formerly oo.). This marked the start of a two-year journey, programming events across the area and solidifying Noir as a leading force in the local music scene.
Our initial palette centered on a passion for minimal, breaks, and various forms of house music. In mid-2023, with the launch of Negruve as our then sister brand, we embraced deliberately darker musical styles. By 2024, recognizing the organic shift, the two merged seamlessly, pushing left field darker oriented music with a very deliberate party feel.
Our goal is to create an event that feels like a family, ensuring a crowd filled with music enthusiasts who share a mutual love and collaborative passion. The forefront of our intentions is to establish a safe space for expression without judgment, encapsulated in our guiding message: "Together is a beautiful place to be."
